Welcome 2025 ATLAS Fellows

After receiving a record-breaking number of applications for our 2025 cohort, we are thrilled to welcome 46 new Fellows to the ATLAS community! With this newest cohort, ATLAS now boasts more than 130 Fellows — 59 percent of whom are the first in their family to attend college, and 56 percent of whom identify as female or non-binary. Between a successful admissions cycle and the afterglow of our inaugural graduation Gala, we cannot wait to see what exciting opportunities await our Fellows this summer.

As in previous years, our newest cohort will spend their summer completing an internship with our flagship employer partner Balyasny Asset Management. This first summer has proven to be an immeasurable benefit for our ever-growing community; the knowledge and experience gained each year by students, staff, mentors, and stakeholders alike directly impacts and furthers ATLAS’s mission to transform the finance industry. In addition to our partnership with Balyasny, we look forward to supporting Fellows interning with many of our other employer partners, including Loop Capital, Baird, Primary Venture Partners, Trillium Trading, and Long Ridge Partners.

In 2025, we made a number of program enhancements to our recruitment and admissions process, and first year curriculum. For the 2025 recruitment cycle, we implemented a more comprehensive, intentional, and in-person admissions process. Over the span of two weekends spent between Chicago and New York, ATLAS staff interviewed more than 100 high school seniors hoping to join the ATLAS community. In addition to an in-person interview, finalists participated in activities designed to better help us get to know them. This initiative provided a new level of insight to our deliberation and selection processes, along with exciting new ideas to consider as we look ahead to next year.

This summer, all 2025 Fellows will begin their internships with a foundation in data science and Python gained through a course offered by Codecademy. Students and mentors alike have noted that having foundational coding skills is an incredible asset to bring into this first summer, and we look forward to seeing the payoff. We are also placing a strong emphasis on using the summer to prepare incoming Fellows for interview season; we will be introducing new content specifically focused on how to navigate virtual interviews, including through platforms like HireVue, which many firms use as a first-round tool.

“We are pleased to welcome the 2025 Fellows to the ATLAS community,” shared Executive Director Phoebe Anderson. “Together, these exceptionally talented individuals–along with ATLAS mentors, supporters, and partners–are proving that potential, not polish, is what matters most in the search for exceptional talent.”
