As a Muslim, Sri Lankan-American, I truly did not see any role models in the field of finance that I could look up to or ask for advice. My whole mantra growing up was “save, save, save your money,” and I was never taught to invest. I joined ATLAS because I wanted to learn how to navigate the field of finance through an Islamic lens which helped keep my core values intact. I want others to know that finance is not limited to banking because it is a sea worth exploring. My biggest takeaway is that money allows you to have the flexibility to fulfill your desires.
