WHAT IS A LAST-DOLLAR SCHOLARSHIP?

Last-dollar scholarships cover students’ remaining cost of attendance (COA) after consideration of other financial aid they are receiving (both from their school and other external sources).
With the ATLAS scholarship, this remaining “gap” is covered by up to $20,000 per year.
Let’s say your school’s COA for the year is $60,000, and you’re already receiving $42,000 in financial aid from other sources. Your remaining cost estimate of $18,000 would then be covered by ATLAS!

Scholarships That Support Academic Success

The ATLAS scholarship is a last-dollar scholarship for up to $20,000/year, applicable for a maximum of four years. This aid is designed to ensure you can make the most of your education and Fellowships without taking on any additional financial stress.

ATLAS's scholarship is distributed through individual 529 plans, which allow students to have direct access (and more control over) their scholarship funds. Since 529 plans are investment accounts, Fellows are also able to determine how strategic they would like to be in the investment of their money. We believe YOU - as the future of finance - should have a say in how your scholarship is utilized, and want to empower you to make those decisions.

ATLAS offers up to 4 years of internships, with the first summer (right after graduating high school) at Balyasny Asset Management, where students receive specific training both from ATLAS and their mentors.

Every internship is unique in the skill-building opportunities it provides over the course of a summer. Whether focusing on your coding skills or collaborating with a team, ATLAS will be there as a constant source of support and guidance.

"In my first internship through ATLAS at Balyasny Asset Management, I worked with the Trading Technology and Compliance team. This work taught me the importance of precision and teamwork in high-stakes environments, and prompted my interest in the FinTech space. Throughout the summer, I also received hands-on training from ATLAS that better equipped me to enter the workplace with confidence."
